Did you know?

Posted on Jun 9 2021 - 5:28pm

Did you know that Mr Pesek will meet with Scouts before meetings to work on advancement signoffs? Mr Pesek is usually at Dick Nichols 30 minutes before each meeting and is available to work with scouts to get rank requirements signed off. Note that you should have a parent email Mr Pesek ahead of time to give him a heads up. Also, at least one other adult will need to be available to maintain YPT requirements.

Meeting on Monday, June 21

Posted on Jun 9 2021 - 5:14pm

Some of you have asked if there will be a meeting on Monday, June 21 (This is when some of the Troop is at Summer Camp). The short answer is, it's up to you. I would be more than happy to have a meeting to review rank requirements, work on knots, lashings, or anything else that you are wanting to work on. In order to do so I would need to Be Prepared. Let me know ahead of time any specific things you would like to work on and I'll make sure the equipment is available. If you just want to come and get stuff you have completed sign-off then that is fine as well. Have your parents send an email to dwpesek@gmail.com or let me know at the next meeting.

Next Meeting - Summer Camp Shakedown

Posted on Jun 9 2021 - 5:07pm

Scouts planning on attending either Cris Dobbins or Lost Pines Summer Camps should bring your packed gear to the meeting on Monday. Experienced scouts will review your gear and provide guidance on any missing items or any items that may be in excess. The meeting will be at Dick Nichols Park at 7pm.

Flag Retirement

Posted on Jun 2 2021 - 10:42am

Heads Up on an upcoming event. June 14th is Flag Day and on June 13th, VFW Post 4443 will be holding a Flag Retirement Ceremony. This is always a fun event and an opportunity to participate in a respectful retirement of our US Flags. I'm being told Hot Dogs and Hamburgers will be provided and families are encouraged to attend. Signup on the Troop site so that we can provide an idea of the number of people attending. I'm still waiting on definite times but expect 11am to 4pm.
